About

Tammy Murdock is a Vancouver Island artist who has always enjoyed a wide variety of mediums and styles. She primarily does art journaling, sketchbook illustrations, and watercolour, and has recently been exploring urban sketching. Tammy’s main motivations in creating are self-expression and inspiring others. Tammy’s work has been published in several art journaling books and magazines. She dabbled in art college back in the day but found it a little too rigid for her tastes. When she teaches, she encourages her students to tap into their own creativity, seeing her role more as a facilitator than telling people exactly what to do. Now that online art education is widely available, she is spending as much time as she can as a student again, seeking out inspiring teachers, soaking up a variety of styles and techniques in a never-ending learning journey.
